OUTSIDE THE CAMP

Many sincere and devoted Christians are working overtime today to build up something that God has finished with, has abandoned, has written Ichabod over the door. The glory of the Lord has departed from the system they are promoting, and they are not even aware of it. There was a time when these organizations were used to provide a home for God’s people, but the day of the Lord has come upon us: a day in which He is gathering His people out of all nations (denomi-nations; named nations) into one corporate body, making one new man, to form an instrument through which He can bless all His people, wherever they may be found and, in so doing, usher in the reign of His kingdom on earth.

This, indeed, is unity; a unity with the power to set in reverse the system that has, over the years, degenerated until, even though the unbeliever might long to find a loving Redeemer, he doesn’t know where to look. Jesus prayed that believers might be one that the world might believe. This unity is found not in the gathering together of the many denominations, which will never see eye to eye as the Lord brings again Zion; but in the gathering together of the people of God outside the religious camp.

Heb 13:12-15 says, "Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate. Therefore let us go forth to Him outside the camp bearing His reproach, for here we have no continuing city but we seek the one to come. Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to Him."

There is no joy to equal that of praising God in the midst of a people gathered together for this purpose. Man has lost sight of the art of praise. It is one of the many things God is restoring to His church in this hour of restoration. As we go forth to seek Him outside the camp He meets us there and sings praises to the Father in the midst of the congregation. Praise ye the Lord!
